Those interested in an associate’s degree program should explore the Rasmussen College campuses. A diploma program is offered by Everest Institute in Eagan and a relevant curriculum is also included in the program offerings of High-Tech Institute, National American University, and Anthem College. Individuals should research each of these schools and others to learn more about the program and application requirements of each.

Courses in pharmacy math, medical law and ethics, and medical terminology are usually included in these programs. An introductory pharmacy course provides students with an overview of the career field in general. Pharmacology allows students to learn about drugs used to treat common diseases and their affects on the body. Some programs include a capstone course or externship opportunity designed to prepare students for employment within the field.

Duluth and Minneapolis have the greatest number of relevant jobs and positions in Rochester are also common. Individuals work in hospitals or pharmacies dispensing prescriptions to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. If they desire, they can go on to sit for the PTCE exam in order to become a CPhT.
